About NASA SEWP VI

NASA’s Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP, pronounced “soup”) provides the latest Information Technology, Communication, and Audio-Visual (ITC/AV) solutions and services for all federal agencies and their approved contractors. Created in 1993, SEWP I was the first Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) in the federal acquisition space, and the program has expanded its scope ever since. It is self-funded through a 0.34% usage fee and supports more than 50,000 orders a year.

VA-Trak holds Category A, which covers ITC/AV solutions: information technology, communications, and audio-visual products and product-based services. As a Category A contract holder and a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, we give agencies a pre-competed, streamlined path to procure technology while counting toward service-disabled veteran-owned small business goals.

What VA-Trak provides under Category A

  • IT hardware and infrastructure: Computers, laptops, storage, peripherals, servers, and data-center equipment.
  • Software and cloud: Software licenses, SaaS, cloud services, and custom solutions.
  • Network and security: Networking, communications equipment, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Audio-visual equipment: A/V systems, displays, video conferencing, and conference-room technology.
  • Installation and maintenance: Product-based services, warranty, installation, and support.
  • Technical support solutions: Help desk, facilities management, and related IT services.

How to order

  1. Define the requirement and raise a Purchase Request (PR) through your agency’s own process. To confirm a requirement is in scope, send an overview or bill of materials to help@sewp.nasa.gov, or contact our program support team to help scope it.

  2. Request quotes through the NASA SEWP Quote Request Tool (QRT) (opens in new tab), selecting VA-Trak as a recipient. The QRT distributes the request to the contract holders in the selected group, which satisfies fair-opportunity requirements. VA-Trak responds with a firm quote.

  3. Your agency’s procurement office issues the Delivery Order (DO) against contract 80TECH26D0499 on any valid federal DO form. The NASA SEWP Program Management Office reviews, processes, and tracks the order and forwards it to VA-Trak. Modifications to an order also route through the PMO.

SEWP fee: 0.34%

NASA SEWP applies a 0.34% contract access fee to every order placed under SEWP VI. The fee funds the SEWP Program Management Office.

Program information, the Quote Request Tool, and contract-holder listings are on the NASA SEWP program site (opens in new tab).

Ordering guide

Our SEWP VI ordering guide covers the program, contract scope, the ordering process, fair opportunity, and program support contacts. It is downloadable and printable.

Fair opportunity

FAR 16.505(b)(1) provides that each contractor shall be given fair opportunity to be considered for each order exceeding $10,000 and issued under multiple award contracts. The FAR states that the method to obtain fair opportunity is at the discretion of the Contracting Officer (CO) and that the CO must document the rationale for placement and price of each order. Using the SEWP online Quote Request Tool is the recommended method to assist in this activity and to augment the required decision documentation. The SEWP Quote Request Tool (QRT) will automatically include the Contract Holders within a selected Group or based on a suggested source.
